Harvest Capital's 2022 Charitable Donation to Shanghai's Pandemic-Affected Areas

Date: 2022-04-03 Views:

Adversity strengthens a nation through sincere aspirations; unity demonstrates responsibility. Currently, Shanghai is facing its greatest challenge in fighting the pandemic over the past two years. The virus can be isolated, but warmth cannot be isolated.

The daily news of newly confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections constantly refreshes, affecting everyone's hearts.

As a professional investment fund focused on grand consumption and modern service industries, Harvest Capital, facing the current severe pandemic spread situation, cares for the masses and acts proactively. Understanding that many frontline medical personnel, nursing homes, and teachers stationed at schools during online classes face tremendous difficulties, Harvest Capital quickly contacted two portfolio companies—Jinmailang and Babi Food—which are also livelihood guarantee units, to implement material donation matters.

This time, through the Minhang District Red Cross Society and Huangpu District Red Cross Society, while directly contacting Huashan Hospital, the Municipal Education Commission, Hongqiao Town, Pujin Subdistrict, and other units, Harvest Capital donated nearly 100,000 cases of food and beverages worth RMB 8.143 million to frontline medical workers and people in difficulty.

The Harvest Capital donation supplies mainly include Jinmailang Lamian Fan, self-heating rice, Cool Boiled Water, as well as Babi Food frozen steamed buns, mantou, flower rolls, shumai, and other foods and drinking water. Through joint efforts from all parties, overcoming numerous difficulties during the lockdown period including traffic control, personnel control, tight transportation capacity, and storage difficulties, multiple batches of supplies have successively arrived in Shanghai and been distributed to frontline personnel. Subsequent supplies will also arrive in the coming days. During Shanghai's most difficult and critical period fighting the pandemic, Harvest Capital, together with portfolio companies, practically solved the urgent need for frontline personnel's logistical support, providing "timely assistance in the snow" to the frontlines.

It's worth mentioning that during this material donation process, we felt warmth from all directions. During the lockdown, originally simple things became extraordinarily difficult. Without unloading workers, doctor volunteers in "Dabai" hazmat suits personally unloaded and loaded trucks, working a full day; without transportation capacity, Eastroc Beverage, after receiving Harvest Capital's request for help, actively allocated transportation resources and rushed to the scene to support at the first opportunity; with dispersed receiving points, large truck drivers transformed into courier brothers, maneuvering through small streets, delivering door-to-door; with community closed management, truck drivers faced problems of being unable to return home but still rushed to the frontlines without hesitation; with busy frontlines, backend volunteers actively served as supply allocation commanders, coordinating all parties for proper transfer and delivery... Everyone's hearts were tightly connected, with everyone working together. Countless moving moments made seemingly impossibly difficult things under this special period seem not so difficult after all. There are truly too many people to thank.

Special experiences during special times will become profound memories for many people after the pandemic. Years later, when everyone gathers together again, with you recounting past events and me depicting memories—what kind of feelings that will evoke! May people endure long after the pandemic. The sea has boats to cross, mountains have roads to travel. In the remaining years, may there be no disasters or difficulties.
